Since childhood, I dreamed of owning my own business. I was deeply inspired by the resilience and fortitude of my father—a Black entrepreneur who thrived during a time when Black business ownership faced intense adversity. Watching him navigate life’s challenges with unwavering determination planted the seed of entrepreneurship in me. At just 10 years old, he brought me into his business and taught me everything he knew.

As I grew older, however, I chose to focus on my corporate career, with hopes of retiring comfortably and perhaps starting a nonprofit. But as fate would have it, divine intervention had a different plan.

My entrepreneurial journey began in 2019, fueled by obedience, sacrifice, and fervent prayer. I launched my venture with one of the most beloved household fragrances in the nation: “GAIN.” This oil-based, multi-purpose scent became the foundation for Natural Attraction Air Deodorizers Inc., and to this day, it remains my most popular air freshener scent.

In March 2020, the global pandemic struck—and I was laid off from my corporate position. Undeterred, I pivoted quickly, increasing my online presence, expanding my social media and text marketing efforts, and offering shipping and delivery options. By July 2020, I returned to local markets and committed to weekend vending. Just two months later, I made the bold decision not to return to corporate life.

I turned to my family for support—and they showed up wholeheartedly. My sister joined me as an on-site, part-time salesperson and is now the company’s CFO. The love, encouragement, and commitment of my family have been immeasurable.

Today, as a proud Black woman business owner, I’ve developed a growing line of over 10 unique multi-purpose air freshener scents and a diverse collection of electric warmer lamps. This brand is more than just a product—it’s a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of purpose.
